Emerging Leaders

Your first leadership role is hard. Sometimes, overwhelming. Our structured course for Emerging Leaders is designed to smooth the way for those who are starting in their management career. For many, learning how to have conversations with their team about results and performance can be difficult and if not done right, can lead to bad leadership habits that over time, can create culture problems across the organization. We understand the challenges that emerging leaders face and we have a proven process that helps them as they start. We even have a process for those who are veteran managers and want to learn about leadership.

Our process starts with a one-hour call with the manager of the student. We provide a questionnaire in advance for the manager that lists 4-6 goals they have for the student, what they do well today and what they think the student needs to advance their career. Then, we conduct a one-hour call with the student and ask the same questions and get their viewpoint on why they think we are going to work together. We discuss what they would like to get out of the course and answer any questions they may have. After the two introductory calls, we create the lesson plan. The course is between 6 and 12 weeks and is conducted in weekly one hour video calls. Topics can include Emotional Intelligence, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Project Management, Metrics and most important, Communication Techniques. The capstone session is a review of the lesson plan to ensure that what we learned is utilized going forward. The course is fun, interactive and educational. We ensure the retain the lessons learned by following up and being a resource for questions in the future.
